Floor laying in Berlin

We install parquet, floorboards, design flooring and linoleum throughout Berlin, Potsdam and Brandenburg – from herringbone in a period flat to linoleum in a school corridor. In living spaces we usually bond the floor across its full surface – to a subfloor that we have checked and prepared beforehand. Own team, one fixed contact person, a written fixed price.

Why we usually bond our floors across the full surface

For parquet, floorboards, design flooring and linoleum in living spaces, full-surface bonding is our standard. A bonded floor lies firm – you notice it every day, when you walk, when you listen and after many years:

Quieter

No hollow sound, no clatter underfoot. Bonded floors sound like a solid floor, because they are one.

Firmer

Nothing floats, nothing gives, the joints stay calm. A clear difference especially on large open areas and transitions between rooms.

For underfloor heating

No insulating underlay and no air gap between screed and floor – the heat gets where it is meant to go.

Built for decades

A firmly bonded parquet floor is the best basis for sanding and resealing it again many years from now.

We float floors where it makes technical sense – for example in commercial projects on special underlays, such as around 300 m² of design flooring on a polyurethane underlay in an office floor in Berlin-Mitte. What we do not offer: cheap laminate. We install floors that are meant to last for many years.

Which floors we install

Solid parquet: strip, herringbone, border frieze

Single strip, herringbone, also with border frieze – fully bonded, then sanded on site and lacquered or oiled. For example 22 mm oak Select in herringbone with border frieze at the Alte Börse Berlin.

Engineered parquet and plank flooring

Factory-lacquered or oiled and quickly ready to live on. We advise which construction suits your subfloor, your underfloor heating and your use.

Floorboards

Wooden floorboards newly installed or precisely patched in period flats – for example at the old stove corner. Then sanded and finished with lacquer or oil.

Design flooring and vinyl

Hard-wearing, easy to care for and warm underfoot – for kitchens, hallways, rented flats and offices. It needs a mirror-smooth subfloor, because every unevenness shows through later. That is why we level the full surface.

Linoleum

A natural floor covering, very hard-wearing – from flats to school corridors. We weld the seams thermally; stairs get rubber nosings on request.

The subfloor decides

A floor is only as good as what it lies on. That is why every installation starts beneath the floor covering:

Checking

Flatness, strength and moisture. On screed we measure the residual moisture with the CM method. If it is not ready for covering, we register our concerns in writing – we only install when the facts are right.

Removing old coverings

We remove old carpet, linoleum or adhesive residue so the new floor lies on a sound base.

Building up period subfloors

Levelling old Berlin timber sub-floors, laying OSB boards, building up with mesh-reinforced or elastic levelling – as in six flats in Prenzlauer Berg.

Priming and levelling

Primers and levelling compounds from UZIN, room by room across the full surface. Plus edge insulation strips, levelled transitions and renewed thresholds.

In living spaces usually fully bonded, with a clean joint pattern and neat connections right into the corners.

  7. 7

    Skirting and transitions

Skirting boards – white, solid wood or in the traditional Berlin profile – plus profiles and transitions between floor coverings.

  8. 8

    Finish and handover

Solid parquet and floorboards are sanded and lacquered or oiled on site. Joint final inspection, and you receive the care instructions.

Choosing your floor: Hinterseer and our brands

We are a partner of Parkett Hinterseer – five locations in Berlin and Potsdam. You choose and touch your floor in their showroom; we install, sand and care for it. Short distances, one contact person.

For the subfloor we rely on UZIN installation materials (levelling compounds, adhesives). We install brand parquet and wood from Hinterseer, Bauwerk and HARO; for resilient floor coverings we trust Tarkett (linoleum, design flooring) and Gerflor (vinyl design flooring, linoleum). On request we advise you brand-neutrally on what suits your room and budget.

What your offer includes

Fixed price based on photos or measurements

The price depends on the floor covering, the subfloor and the scope. You receive a written fixed-price offer with every item listed – no extras unless you ask for them.

Removing old coverings, priming, levelling: whatever the subfloor needs is listed individually – so you can see what you are paying for.

Skirting and transitions

Skirting boards, profiles and thresholds are calculated by effort and listed separately.

Site set-up and travel

Site set-up and travel are listed as separate items in the offer. Small areas under 35 m² have a higher price per square metre.

Frequently asked questions about floor laying

Why do you usually bond the floor instead of floating it?

Because a fully bonded floor lies firm: it does not sound hollow, the joints stay calm, the heat of underfloor heating arrives without an insulating underlay, and parquet can be sanded again easily later. In living spaces that is our standard.

Do you also float floors?

Yes, where it makes technical sense – for example in commercial projects on special underlays. We tell you openly beforehand which method is better for your room and what it means for sound and durability.

Do you also install laminate?

We do not offer cheap laminate. We focus on parquet, floorboards, design flooring and linoleum – floors that last for many years and in some cases can be refinished later.

What does it cost to have a floor installed?

That depends mainly on the floor covering, the subfloor and the scope. Based on photos or measurements you receive a written fixed-price offer with every item listed. Site set-up and travel are listed separately; small areas under 35 m² have a higher price per square metre.

Where do I choose my floor?

Most easily in the showroom of our partner Parkett Hinterseer – five locations in Berlin and Potsdam. Or we advise you brand-neutrally. We collect the goods; you have one contact person.

Does the old floor have to come out?

Usually yes – we do not bond onto old carpet or loose coverings. We see what lies underneath at the site visit. Removing the old covering is a separate item in the offer.

Is it possible with underfloor heating?

Yes. Which floor and which construction suit it, we clarify on site. On screed we check the residual moisture with the CM method before installing.

What happens if the screed is still too damp?

Then we register our concerns in writing and do not install. We only install when the measurement is right – that protects your floor and your money.

Can new parquet go on old floorboards or timber sub-floors in a period building?

Often yes. We level old Berlin timber sub-floors, build up a load-bearing base with OSB boards and elastic, fibre-reinforced levelling, and bond onto it. Whether that works in your case, we check on site.

Are skirting boards included?

Yes, completely on request: white, solid wood or in the traditional Berlin profile, plus profiles and transitions to adjoining floor coverings.

Do I have to move the furniture myself?

We take over empty rooms. If you cannot manage that, we clear and refurnish the rooms for an extra charge by arrangement – just mention it in your enquiry.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

The assessment usually comes within 48 hours. We give you the date for the work together with the offer – realistic, and we keep it.

After installation: you will find the care instructions for lacquered and oiled floors on the home page. Cleaning and caring for parquet →
